Rheumatoid Arthritis, a pain free day

I had a RA pain free day today. It was a first in seven months of struggle. It may not last but I’ll take it. I usually have bad feet issues, pain in my wrists and hands, and all my other joints take turns  being painful.

I am on methotrexate, 25mg a week. I started it in February of this year. I am fortunate not to have side effects with it. I also have been on prednisone since January. The prednisone is at 9.5mg and being tapered by .5 mg every two weeks. This works.

Two weeks ago Dr R started me on Hydroxychloroquine aka Plaquenil. I take  100mg/200mg,alternating days. It seems to help already! It is an antimalarial drug. It works for RA. It is a good combination drug with methotrexate.

Tramadol helps me, too. It doesn’t help actively inflamed joints but it does help the struggle all my joints seem to have.

I have a good day. It is something all of us with Rheumatoid arthritis wish to have. Tomorrow I hope to have another one.
